Breaking barriers

The power of Women

In the world of fencing, where male coaches still dominate, it is essential for women to support and uplift each other. By fostering a strong community, we are not only creating more opportunities for female coaches and fencers but also inspire the next generation to see themselves as leaders in the sport. Our presence, mentorship, and solidarity can break barriers, challenge norms, and shape a more inclusive and diverse future in fencing. Together, we can make a lasting impact.

Women's History Month

"My own fencing journey was transformed by my coach of 14 years, Gabi Cimpoaie, whose technical expertise and mentorship showed me what was possible when women lead in our sport. Her guidance not only improved my competitive skills, but her encouragement and unwavering support helped me overcome my doubts and come back to fencing after having my first child. Her ability to adapt her coaching style to my needs not only led to my first NAC medal in vet women’s foil, but demonstrates the unique perspective women coaches bring to fencing—creating training environments that balance technical precision with diverse teaching approaches. Under her guidance, her fencers have achieved national and international success, and I’m looking forward to the day my own daughter starts training with her."
